At the Waitara Fire station

Here are some things that I learned yesterday

Yesterday, my class went to the Waitara Fire station to learn about  fire safety. We learned how they put out fires and talked about what do we do  when a fire happens.    Here are some things I learned:

  • If you smell Smoke get down and get out FAST!
  • When you see a Fire get down Get low get out FAST !
  • If a fire is happening, call 111 and tell the fire department your address and what you need police or fire department or ambulance.
  • Get out quickly and meet at the mail box so you are in a safe place away from the fire.
  • Make sure your smoke alarms are working in case you have a fire because you can’t smell smoke.
  • A torch is much safer than a candle.
